Managing Your Payment Method

Card expired? Switching banks? Want to use a different payment method? No problem. This guide shows you how to update your payment details so your membership continues without interruption.

Why Update Your Payment Method

Common reasons to update your payment details:

  • Your card expired or will expire soon
  • Your bank issued a new card number
  • You want to switch to a different card or account
  • A payment failed and you need to fix the details
  • You’re switching from card to PayPal (or vice versa)

Update Before Expiry
Don’t wait for a failed payment. If you know your card is expiring, update it a few days before your billing date to avoid any disruption.

Supported Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Debit cards: Most major debit cards with online payment capability
  • PayPal: Pay through your PayPal account
  • SEPA Direct Debit: For EU bank accounts (where available)

How to Update Your Payment Method

Log into your account

Go to badassnetwork.com and sign in with your member credentials.

Go to My Account

Click “My Account” in the navigation menu.

Navigate to Payment Methods

Find “Payment Methods” in your account menu. This shows your currently saved payment methods.

Add a new payment method

Click “Add Payment Method” and enter your new card details or connect PayPal.

Set as default (if needed)

Make sure your new payment method is set as the default for your subscription.

Remove old payment method (optional)

Delete your old card to keep things tidy and secure.

Updating Payment Method on Your Subscription

Adding a new payment method to your account doesn’t automatically change what’s used for your subscription. Here’s how to update the subscription specifically:

Go to My Account → Subscriptions

Find your active Badass Network subscription.

Click on your subscription

This opens the subscription details page.

Find “Payment Method”

Look for the payment method section showing your current card/account.

Click “Change Payment”

Select your new payment method from the options or add a new one.

Confirm the change

Save your changes. Your next billing will use the new payment method.

Subscription vs Account Payment Methods
Your account can have multiple saved payment methods, but your subscription uses one specific method. Make sure you update the subscription’s payment method, not just add a new card to your account.

After a Failed Payment

If your payment failed and your subscription is on hold, updating your payment method should trigger a retry:

  1. Update your payment method following the steps above
  2. The system may automatically retry the failed payment
  3. If not, look for a “Pay Now” or “Retry Payment” button in your subscription
  4. Once successful, your subscription returns to active status

Switching to PayPal

Want to pay with PayPal instead of a card?

Go to My Account → Subscriptions

Find your active subscription.

Click “Change Payment”

Look for the option to change your payment method.

Select PayPal

Choose PayPal as your payment method.

Connect your PayPal account

You’ll be redirected to PayPal to authorise recurring payments.

Complete authorisation

Confirm in PayPal, then you’ll return to Badass Network with PayPal connected.

PayPal Billing Agreements
When you use PayPal for a subscription, you’re setting up a billing agreement that allows us to charge your PayPal account each month automatically. You can manage or cancel this in your PayPal account settings.

Card Security

Your payment security is important:

  • We don’t store full card numbers: Only the last 4 digits and expiry are visible to you
  • Payments are processed securely: We use industry-standard encryption
  • PCI compliant: Our payment processing meets security standards

If you ever see a payment you don’t recognise, contact us immediately.

Troubleshooting

Card keeps getting declined

  • Check you’ve entered the correct card number, expiry, and CVV
  • Ensure the card is enabled for online/international payments
  • Contact your bank—they may be blocking the transaction
  • Try a different card or payment method

Can’t see the option to change payment

  • Make sure you’re logged into the correct account
  • Navigate to Subscriptions, not just Payment Methods
  • Click into your specific subscription to see options
  • Contact support if the option doesn’t appear

PayPal authorisation failed

  • Check your PayPal account is in good standing
  • Ensure you have a valid funding source in PayPal
  • Try again—sometimes it’s a temporary issue
  • Use a card directly if PayPal continues to fail

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Adding a payment method doesn’t trigger a charge. You’re only charged on your normal billing date, or if you manually retry a failed payment.

Yes. You can save multiple cards or payment methods in your account. Just make sure the one you want to use is set as the default for your subscription.

Usually yes. Even if the card number is the same, the expiry date and CVV have changed. Update your payment method with the new details to ensure payments go through.

Old payment methods stay saved until you delete them. Go to Payment Methods and remove the old card if you no longer want it saved. Make sure your subscription is using the new card first.

Yes—you can use any card you’re authorised to use. The card doesn’t need to be in your name, as long as you have permission from the cardholder.
