Cancelling Your Membership

Thinking about leaving? We’re sorry to see you go, but we believe in making cancellation straightforward. This guide explains exactly how to cancel your Badass Network membership, what happens when you do, and what your options are.

Before You Cancel

Before you go through with cancellation, consider:

  • Is there something we can help with? If you’re cancelling because of a problem, reach out—we may be able to fix it
  • Do you need a break, not a goodbye? Pausing might be an option (contact support)
  • Have you explored everything? Sometimes members cancel before discovering features that would help them

We Value Your Feedback
If you do cancel, we’d love to know why. Your feedback helps us improve. There’s no obligation, but a quick note to [email protected] is appreciated.

How to Cancel Your Membership

Log into your account

Go to badassnetwork.com and sign in with your credentials.

Go to My Account

Click “My Account” in the navigation menu.

Navigate to Subscriptions

Find “Subscriptions” in your account menu.

Click on your subscription

Select your Badass Network membership to view details.

Click “Cancel”

Look for the Cancel button or link on your subscription page.

Confirm cancellation

You may be asked to confirm. Click to proceed with cancellation.

Once confirmed, your subscription is set to cancel at the end of your current billing period.

What Happens After You Cancel

Immediate Effects

  • Status changes: Your subscription shows “Pending Cancellation” or similar
  • No immediate loss of access: You keep access until your paid period ends
  • No more charges: You won’t be billed again

When Your Paid Period Ends

  • Blog access: You lose the ability to publish and manage your blog
  • Dashboard access: Admin access to your blog is revoked
  • Community access: You’re removed from the private Facebook group
  • Affiliate earnings: You stop earning new affiliate commissions
⚠️
Your Content
Your blog and content are not immediately deleted. However, after a period of inactivity, your content may be removed from the platform. If you have content you want to keep, export it before your access ends.

Access Until End of Billing Period

When you cancel, you don’t lose access immediately. Here’s how it works:

Example: If your billing date is the 15th and you cancel on the 5th, you still have access until the 15th (when your next payment would have been due).

You’ve already paid for that time—cancelling just stops the next charge.

Exporting Your Content

Before you lose access, you may want to save your work:

Log into your WordPress dashboard

Access your blog’s admin area while you still have access.

Go to Tools → Export

Find the Export option in the Tools menu.

Select what to export

Choose “All content” to export posts, pages, and media references.

Download the export file

Save the XML file to your computer.

💡
Save Your Images Too
The WordPress export includes references to images but not the files themselves. If you want to keep your images, download them from the Media Library or use a plugin to export them.

What Happens to Your Blog

After cancellation:

  • Short term: Your blog may become inaccessible to the public
  • Medium term: Your content is retained in case you return
  • Long term: After an extended period, content may be permanently removed

If you think you might come back, don’t wait too long—your content isn’t kept forever.

Affiliate Commissions After Cancellation

If you’ve been earning affiliate commissions:

  • Existing referrals: You stop earning on referrals once your membership ends
  • Unpaid balance: If you have a balance above the minimum threshold, you’ll receive it according to normal payment schedule
  • Balance below threshold: May be forfeited (check the affiliate terms)
  • Affiliate link: Stops working when your membership ends

Resubscribing Later

Changed your mind? You can rejoin Badass Network:

  • Easy to rejoin: Simply sign up again through the website
  • Same account: You may be able to use your existing account
  • Content recovery: If you return quickly, your old content might still be available (not guaranteed)
  • Fresh start: If your content is gone, you’ll start with a fresh blog

Rejoining sooner rather than later gives the best chance of recovering your previous work.

Cancelling via Email

If you can’t access your account or prefer not to cancel online:

  1. Email [email protected]
  2. Include your account email address
  3. State clearly that you want to cancel your membership
  4. We’ll process the cancellation and confirm by email

Note: Cancellation via email may take 1-2 business days to process.

Refunds

Cancelling your subscription stops future charges but doesn’t automatically trigger a refund for the current period.

  • Standard cancellation: You’ve paid for the current period and keep access until it ends
  • Refund requests: If you believe you’re entitled to a refund (e.g., cancelling shortly after being charged), contact support to discuss
  • Refund policy: Handled on a case-by-case basis—see our refund policy or contact support
⚠️
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Chargebacks are costly and may result in your account being permanently banned. We’re happy to work with you on legitimate refund requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typically no—you keep access for the remainder of your paid period. Prorated refunds aren’t standard, but if you have special circumstances, contact support to discuss.

If you cancel within the first few days and haven’t used the platform significantly, contact support. We handle these situations on a case-by-case basis and want you to be satisfied with your purchase.

Contact support immediately. If your subscription hasn’t fully ended yet, we may be able to reverse the cancellation. Quick action is key.

Pausing isn’t a standard self-service feature, but contact support if you need a temporary break. We may be able to work something out depending on your situation.

We don’t delete content immediately, but we also don’t guarantee indefinite retention. If you might want your content back, export it before cancelling or rejoin as soon as possible. Extended inactive accounts are eventually cleaned up.

You’ll receive confirmation of your cancellation. Marketing emails should stop once your membership ends. If you continue receiving emails you don’t want, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom or contact support.
