Affiliate Payments And Tracking

You’ve made some referrals and earned commissions—now you want to know when and how you get paid. This guide covers everything about affiliate payments: the schedule, payment methods, minimum thresholds, and how to track your referrals and earnings.

Payment Overview

Here’s the quick summary:

  • Payment schedule: Monthly
  • Processing time: Within 30 days after each month ends
  • Minimum threshold: €50
  • Currency: Euros (€)
  • Methods: Bank transfer (SEPA), PayPal, or other agreed methods

Payment Schedule

Commissions are paid on a monthly basis. Here’s how the timeline works:

  1. Earning period: You earn commissions throughout the calendar month
  2. Processing period: After the month ends, we verify and process commissions
  3. Payment window: Payments are issued within 30 days of month-end

Example: Commissions earned in January are verified in early February and paid by the end of February.

ℹ️
Processing Takes Time
The processing period allows us to verify referrals, account for refunds or chargebacks, and ensure accurate payment. This protects both you and us from paying out on transactions that later get reversed.

Minimum Payment Threshold

You must earn at least €50 before a payment is issued.

If your balance is below €50 at month-end, don’t worry—it rolls over to the next month. Your earnings accumulate until they hit the threshold.

Example:

  • January earnings: €30 → rolls over (below threshold)
  • February earnings: €40 → total now €70 → payment issued
💡
Reaching Threshold Faster
With €10 per referral per month, you need 5 active referrals to hit the €50 threshold monthly. Focus on getting your first 5 quality referrals and payments become consistent.

Payment Methods

We offer several ways to receive your commissions:

Bank Transfer (SEPA)

For EU-based affiliates, SEPA bank transfer is the standard option:

  • Direct transfer to your bank account
  • No fees from our end (your bank may have receiving fees)
  • Typically arrives within 1-3 business days
  • Requires your IBAN and BIC/SWIFT code

PayPal

Available for affiliates worldwide:

  • Instant transfer to your PayPal account
  • PayPal fees may apply on your end
  • Requires a verified PayPal email address
  • Good option for non-EU affiliates

Other Methods

Alternative payment methods can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if SEPA and PayPal don’t work for your situation.

⚠️
Keep Payment Info Updated
You’re responsible for providing accurate payment information. If a payment fails because of incorrect details, it will be delayed until you update your information. Check your payment settings regularly.

Payment Currency

All commissions are calculated and paid in Euros (€).

If your bank account or PayPal is in a different currency:

  • Your bank or PayPal will convert at their exchange rate
  • Conversion fees may apply depending on your provider
  • The amount received may vary slightly from the euro amount

Tax Responsibilities

As an affiliate, you’re an independent contractor. This means:

  • You’re responsible for reporting your earnings to tax authorities
  • You’re responsible for paying any taxes owed on your commissions
  • Badass Network does not withhold taxes from your payments (unless required by law)
  • We may report your earnings to tax authorities as required
  • We may request tax documentation (like W-9 for US affiliates)
⚠️
Consult a Tax Professional
Tax laws vary by country and situation. If you’re unsure about your obligations, consult with a local tax professional. Keeping good records of your earnings will make tax time much easier.

Tracking Your Referrals

Your affiliate dashboard gives you visibility into your referrals and earnings:

What You Can Track

  • Click-throughs: How many people clicked your affiliate link
  • Sign-ups: How many became paying members
  • Active referrals: Current members who came through your link
  • Pending commissions: Earnings not yet paid out
  • Paid commissions: Historical record of payments received
  • Current balance: Amount waiting to be paid

💡
Check Regularly
Reviewing your stats weekly helps you understand what’s working. Notice which promotional methods drive clicks and conversions, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

How Cookie Tracking Works

When someone clicks your affiliate link, a cookie is placed in their browser:

  • Cookie duration: 30 days
  • Attribution: First-click wins (first affiliate link clicked gets credit)
  • Tracking: Works across browsing sessions within the 30-day window

Situations That Can Break Tracking

  • User clears their cookies before signing up
  • User switches to a different device or browser
  • More than 30 days pass between click and sign-up
  • User uses private/incognito browsing mode

While you can’t control these factors, being aware of them helps set realistic expectations.

Commission Adjustments

Sometimes commissions need to be adjusted after being credited:

Refunds

If your referral gets a refund, the associated commission is reversed. This can happen even after payment to you.

Chargebacks

If a payment is disputed through the bank, the commission is reversed. Chargebacks are taken seriously and may affect your standing.

Fraudulent Referrals

If a referral is determined to be fraudulent, all associated commissions are forfeited.

Cancelled Memberships

When a referral cancels (without refund), you stop earning future commissions but keep past earnings for the months they were active.

ℹ️
Negative Balances
If adjustments exceed your current balance, you may end up with a negative balance. This will be deducted from future earnings. In rare cases, you may be asked to repay the amount.

Referral Verification

We verify referrals before crediting commissions. This process checks:

  • Valid tracking (cookie was present, link was clicked)
  • New member status (not a former member rejoining)
  • Payment success (first payment went through)
  • Compliance (referral followed programme rules)
  • No fraud indicators (legitimate sign-up behaviour)

Verification typically happens during the processing period after month-end. Suspicious activity may delay payment while we investigate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Payments are processed within 30 days after the month ends. So January earnings are paid by end of February, February earnings by end of March, and so on. Exact timing within that window depends on processing volume and payment method.

Your balance rolls over to the next month. Keep promoting and your earnings will accumulate until you hit the threshold. There’s no expiration on unpaid balances.

Yes. Update your payment information in your affiliate dashboard settings. Changes take effect for the next payment cycle. Make sure to update before month-end if you want the new method used for that month’s payment.

Common reasons include: the referral requested a refund, the payment was charged back, the referral was found to violate programme terms, or there was a calculation error. Your dashboard should show details about adjustments.

Yes. You’ll receive an email notification when a payment is processed. Your dashboard also shows complete payment history. If you’re expecting a payment and haven’t received notification, check your spam folder or contact support.

Keep records of all payments received, including dates and amounts. Your dashboard provides payment history that you can reference. Also keep records of any business expenses related to your affiliate activities. Consult a tax professional for specific advice.

If you leave voluntarily and in good standing, earned commissions meeting the minimum threshold will be paid on the normal schedule. Balances below threshold may be paid at our discretion. If terminated for violations, unpaid commissions may be forfeited.

Several things can prevent tracking: they may have cleared cookies, used a different device to sign up, waited longer than 30 days, or another affiliate’s link was clicked first. Unfortunately, we can only credit referrals our system tracked. Contact support if you believe there’s a technical issue.
